The CDC recommends that anyone over the age of 6 months should get theirflu shot from September through January. Getting your vaccine is not onlyhelpful in preventing the flu, but it is also important in protecting others.DCPS Employee Wellness has partnered with Walgreens to provide you withconvenient access to the flu vaccine. Vaccine clinics are held at variousschool site locations beginning September through October. Financial Wellbeing ProgramsFlorida Retirement System (FRS) FRS Pension PlanThe FRS Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan, in which you areguaranteed a benefit at retirement if you meet certain criteria. The amount ofyour future benefit is determined by a formula, based on your earnings, lengthof service, and membership class, and may be adjusted by a cost-of-living increase each July (adjustment only applicable for FRS service earnedprior to July 1, 2011). If you are initially enrolled in the Pension Plan on or afterJuly 1, 2011, you will not have a cost-of-living increase after retirement.Your benefit is pre-funded by your employee and employer contributions. Financial Wellbeing ProgramsFlorida Retirement System (FRS) FRS Investment PlanThe FRS Investment Plan is a defined contribution plan, in which employer andemployee contributions are defined by law, but your ultimate benefit dependsin part on the performance of your investment funds.The FRS Investment Plan is funded by employer and employee contributionsthat are based on your salary and your FRS membership class (Regular Class,Special Risk Class, etc.).
