New Years DayMemorial DayIndependence DayLabor DayThanksgiving DayThe day after ThanksgivingChristmas EveChristmas DayFloating Holidays and Personal Days mustbe used prior to the end of the calendaryear in which they are credited; unusedhours remaining at the end of the calendaryear will be forfeited.Well-being BenefitsPaid HolidaysFull-time employees receive eleven (11) designated holidays, each year, three (3) of which are floating holidays to observedays that may not be part of the Arboretum designated holidays. The designated paid holidays include the days listedbelow.Paid Leave ProgramSick LeaveFull-time employees are credited in ADP with ten days (75 hours) of sick leave annually on January 1. Employees hiredduring the year, will be prorated at six and one-quarter (6.25) hours per month. Sick leave may be used for an employee'sown illness unrelated to a work injury or illness or for the illness and care of family members, such as the employee’schild (includes step, foster and legal ward), spouse, domestic partner, sibling, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law,grandparent, or grandchild.Personal Leave (for non-exempt employees only)Full-time, non-exempt employees will be credited in ADP annually on January 1 with two days (15 hours) of personalleave; employees hired on or after July 1 will receive one day (7.5 hours) of personal leave. Personal leave must bescheduled and approved by the employee's supervisor in advance. Full-time employees annually rollover up to 37.5 sick leave hours, the equivalent of five days, of their unused sick leaveinto an Extended Sick Leave Bank (ESLB) The balances in the Extended Sick Leave Bank can be used for specific FamilyMedical Leave Act (FMLA) or Short Term Disability (STD) qualifying events.For 2025, employees hired between January and June will receive three (3) floating holidays. Employees hired afterJuly 1 will receive two (2) floating holidays.

Well-being BenefitsVacation LeavePaid Leave ProgramFull-time employees receive paid vacation leave in support of the belief that time away from work is important to thehealth and well-being of employees. Vacation leave is accrued monthly, on the first day of the month according to theschedule below and is available for use with supervisor approval. Vacation hours continue to accrue monthly, not toexceed the maximum totals, as noted below.New employees will receive 37.5 hours of their annualized total up front on their first day of employment and theiraccrual is then suspended until it catches up to the accrual schedule.Vacation Accrual SchedulePaid Parental LeaveThe Arboretum provides paid parental leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee's child or theplacement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care in accordance with the policy.Pregnancy-Related Medical LeaveAn eligible employee may take up to ten (10) weeks of paid pregnancy-related medical leave related to childbirthbeginning with the birth of the child. An eligible employee who is unable to work as a result of a medical condition relatedto the pregnancy prior to the birth of the child may be covered by the Arboretum’s short term disability leave.Parental Bonding LeaveEligible employees may take up to six (6) weeks of paid parental bonding leave after the birth or placement of his or herchild for the purpose of bonding with the newborn or newly placed child. If both parents of the child are employees of theMorton Arboretum, they are each eligible for six (6) weeks; for a combined total of up to twelve (12) weeks of paidparental bonding leave.

The Illinois Bright Start 529 Plan is a valuable way to help you with one of thegreatest financial challenges you will face - saving for college.457b Retirement Savings Plan - VanguardThe 457(b) plan is a non-qualified deferred compensation program for highly compensated employees. Similar to the401(k) plan, with this type of plan, participants may contribute pre-tax dollars from their paycheck, and that money won’tbe taxed until withdrawn, usually in retirement. For 2025, the definition of a highly compensated employee is $160,000and above.401k Retirement Savings Plan - VanguardEmployees, 18 and older, are eligible to invest in The Morton Arboretum 401(k) Retirement Plan and Trust on the first ofthe month following date-of-hire, or anytime thereafter. Contributions are voluntary through payroll deductions andadministered by Vanguard. Your pre-tax and/or ROTH contributions are deferred from your bi-weekly pay and subject tothe dollar limit for the calendar year as provided by law. For 2025, employees participating in the 401(k) plan can defer up to $23,500 annually. Participants 50 years and oldercan contribute up to $31,000 annually starting in 2025. Under a change made in SECURE 2.0, a higher catch-upcontribution limit applies for employees aged 60, 61, 62, and 63 who participate in the 401(k). That limit is an additional$11,250, or $34,750 annually. The employer contributions have a one-year vesting schedule which means thesecontributions are not vested (yours) until your one-year work anniversary. Your contributions are always 100% vested.Financial Benefits

Enroll nowYou must request a change to your benefitswithin 30 days of your life event (60 days forchanges involving Medicaid eligibility). Documentation may be required. Qualifying life events allow you to change yourcoverage during the year outside of OpenEnrollment. These include:marriage or divorce, birth or adoption, death of a covered dependent, and a change in eligibility through Medicare,Medicaid, or a spouse or parent's coverage. Open Enrollment is your one chance each year toreview your coverage options and make changes toyour benefits.Your choices are in effect from January –December of the following year unless you have aqualifying life event.Your benefits begin on the first day of the monthfollowing date of hire; this is your effective date. Besure to submit your selections within your first 30days of employment.
